Credit cards maybe a barrier for some  people to get out of debt and save extra money. However those people, who pay off their credit card bills each month on time, can have some saving advantages from card usage.

Most of the credit cards protect your purchases from damage or theft for a certain time period after the purchase is made.

Often if you use credit card to buy airline tickets they will offer coverage for life and baggage insurance during your vacations. Since all cards have different rules and coverage you need to check with your credit card company to find out exactly what it does and doesn’t cover.

With airline credit cards you usually earn points toward free tickets or upgrades. In addition to plane tickets, the airlines have partnerships with a wide variety of other companies where you can earn points toward tickets when you use the partner’s services. Almost all airline credit cards have annual fees, but these can sometimes be waived if you use your credit card often and are considered a top customer.

If you pay off your credit card bills on time each month that means you are receiving an interest free loan from the time you make your purchase until your credit card bill is due. Since you will be paying off your bill on its due day, you can put the money that you would use for the purchase and place it into an interest bearing savings account.

A number of credit cards will offer you to earn money or points for a variety of goods and services you purchase.

There are many credit card programs that specialize in useful advantages for their customers. There are cards that will pay a certain % towards your home mortgage loan, donate to your favorite charity, or help you earn money towards your next car purchase.
